Daily action. Jim Rohn one of my favorite authors talks bout the secret to success and the secret to “failure” as well. Success he says is found in your small disciplines practiced daily that eventually lead to success over time if done long enough. On the flip side, failure is brought on by simple “errors in judgement” made day after day. He uses an example of asking kids if he will burn his finger if he waves it through a candle flame. The kids all say YES you will. Then, Jim Rohn waves his handle quickly back and forth through the candle flame. Naturally, the kids say, no, no, you have to leave it in there for a longer period of time. Instantly, they got the picture. Just because you go too McDonalds today you won’t have poor health. It is this habit practiced over and over and over that will lead to demise for long periods of time.
I make it a habit that every single day I do something that advances my business forward and grows my skills. My question to you is this, are your daily habits leading you to failure or success? Are they disciplined or undisciplined? Only TIME will tell. My best advice on getting good habits established is to write daily what your “critical” tasks would be. Then, monitor it over time. Also, you can really tell by how your life is in the area you are measuring. Is your bank account getting bigger? Waistline getting smaller? Relationships growing stronger? Whatever you are measuring, time reveals how you are doing.
What habit are you trying to establish right now? Let me help you stay accountable.
Be great, nothing else pays.
