Tiger Woods won his 5th Masters tournament this past weekend and like the guy or not, he is a world class athlete and performer. It really got me thinking as I watched him sink his winning put and the hundreds of people instantly put their hands up in excitement how much work went into that moment. But, does your average person realize that? The early mornings, sleepless nights, the disciplined focus, the time away from family, the thousands of rounds of golf played. The question is, are you willing to put in the work? Tim Grover, who was Michael Jordan’s trainer, says that the ultimate level of life is to be a cleaner in whatever your chosen path is not just professionally or financially. The levels go like this. Cooler (lowest), Closer (middle) and Cleaner (highest). It is clear to say, Tiger Woods is a cleaner in golf. But, are you a cleaner in an area of life? For myself, I am not and you certainly can’t self disclose yourself as a cleaner or you aren’t one. Here is the way I see it though:
Coolers watch greatness
Closers surround themselves with greatness
Cleaners perform the greatness
Which one are you? Because make no mistake, becoming a cleaner is a choice. YOU can decide right now you are going to work yourself to be a cleaner. But, there will be many sacrifices. I want to go down as a cleaner as an entrepreneur. This is my chosen path. I want to focus the next 5-10 years on becoming the best leader I can and watch my companies grow. I want to serve my customers to the absolute best of my ability. This is why I will go down as a cleaner. If you help enough other people get what they want, you will get what you want. Start helping and serving people today and it will help you get to where you want to get in life.
